The hammock is up and it’s time for an afternoon nap. I love this campsite. I stayed here last summer, and I’ll come back here more times. . I’ve had a hard time letting go of the stress from work and life in general lately. Hopefully this will ease some of it. Living tent life. Coming from a 5p canvas tipi with a hot stove C was less than impressed by our new home. But it was alright for her anyways. I stayed under my quilt as I boiled water for coffee and served C tortillas with Parmesan and salami. We aired out the sleeping bags on top of the tent before we packed up. After only a short while we startled a group of 30-something fallow deers. They where only 50m from us when we came over a crest, made a short run, stopped to watch us, and then left over a hill. It was amazing, but more amazing was that we where able to sneak up on them again and watch them in the next valley. First night in this tent. I’ve never had a freestanding tent before, and it’ll be nice to see how well this will work for my trips with C. Me and C went on a day trip to #storamossenationalpark yesterday. C was disappointed that we didn’t bring a tent with us, but I promised her that we would return with a tent later in spring. The mire is the largest in southern Sweden, and it has dozens of km of footbridges like these, stretching through the “mire-ocean”. First time on cross country skis since I was a kid. I’ve been wanting skis for a decade, but finally decided to buy a set just a couple of weeks ago when I could get a lot of discounts. I doubt I’ll grow out of this kit. I did a 5.3km track on one of the local golf courses, and I’m quite sore now. It was fun, but unfortunately the weather forecast predicts +10°C next week. Good morning. It snowed on and off all of yesterday, but during the night the skies cleared up. I don’t have a thermometer with me, but the weather app shows -6°C. And it really feels colder than yesterday. C woke up by 06.30 and stated that it was time to get up now. I did NOT agree, but try it persuade a wide awake three year old that we should sleep another hour. The sun is still below the horizon, but we got a nice warm fire inside the Lavvu. Me and C are back out with a big fat load of food. We’ll stay by ourselves tonight, and tomorrow my wife will join us after work. It’s pushing herself far off her comfort zone, but we’re glad she wants to join us. Snow has come again in Småland, and me and C tried our new skis for the first time. C did surprisingly good.
